I'm making several rooms for a budding chatlands chat, and I need some information so my final product doesn't show up on the browsers frame all squished and ugly.

Can I get the exact dimensions (W x H in pixels) for a correctly sized room?

Thank you.

You'll wanna do 1920x1080 or some other variant of that ratio. It comes up best. That's coming from me as an artist for Chatlands, not from what WH uses.

Okay, thank you for the info!

However, could UD be contacted for the "official" dimensions that are set for rooms?

This is taken directly from our "Uploading rooms FAQ" http://www.wolfhome.com/faq/room_uploader.php?pop=
What are the absolute basics that I need to know?
  • Your image can be submitted as a GIF, PNG or JPEG.
  • The file size must be under 512 KB.
  • Any ratio (height and width) is fine because the image is stretched to fit the available space in the browser. To get the best ratio, you should probably be using about 9 x 5 (for example: use a room background picture that is 450 pixels wide and 250 pixels high).

there is no official dimension for rooms, which is why I suggested the 1920x1080 ratio, coz I've been working on chatlands sites for a long time uploading rooms and whatnot and this has worked best for me
the artist creates them and then the site scales them to fit the resolution of the user

That's true - if you look at the code output there is no governing ratio set by the server, it is only what is displayed by your browser. That is why the dimensions of the room change when you resize your browser window.
