Update made to the Wolfhome Forum Rules: Rule #15 12/15/14
15.) All signature content (i.e., images, text, spoilers that are opened, spoilers that are closed) must be within 300 pixels in height by 600 pixels in length. All signatures can be no larger then 300 x 600 pixels. (300 in height, 600 in width). Avatars and signatures should also be no more than 300kbs in file size. We also kindly ask that members of this community try not to have gif heavy avatars and signatures, as it can lag (otherwise known as slow down) other users.

Update made to the Wolfhome Chat Rules regarding Private Room Usage on 05/04/2015
Private Rooms and Issues Offsite

The Wolfhome Administration is not responsible for the moderation of privately owned rooms. The owner of the private room is responsible and in charge of what happens in said room. This means that when you enter another user’s room, you are subject to their rules. You should enter the private rooms of others at your own risk. If you do not like the rules laid down by the room owner, go to another location. The only exception the Wolfhome Administration makes to this is the following: a death threat, a hack threat, a virus threat, a suicide threat, or the propositioning of a minor. If any of the previous have occurred, please report it to the Wolfhome Administration immediately.

Opening or entering another person's private room on Wolfhome, without their knowledge and without their consent, is not acceptable. Using another's personal room without permission will be considered a form of theft, and said user can be removed from the room and given an official warning. If this occurs, the room owner will need to report it to the Wolfhome Administration directly so it can be handled.

The Wolfhome Administration is also not responsible for the moderation of issues offsite. They are only responsible for issues occurring on the Wolfhome chat and forum. If someone is abusing a feature on another website, they should be reported to the owner or staff of that particular site.

Minor update made to our sticky for the Artists Giving Back forum. We've updated it to include characters being given away for free. I've highlighted the new parts here, for convenience.
Hello and welcome to the "Artists giving back" section of the Wolfhome forums! The old "Free Colouring/Shading/Grayscaling/etc." section can still be found here but is now locked and considered an archive.

This section is purely for artists to post offering their services, art, or characters to others. Please bear in mind the following:
  • :!: Do not make request threads! Making a thread asking for artwork to be made for you will result in your thread being locked and/or removed without warning and you may have action (such as bans) taken.
:!: Remember, this section is for artists wanting to create free art and it is up to them who they choose to make art for, try to refrain from "pestering" artists about art you think they may "owe" you.
:!: Of course, all drawn art in this section must be made by you!
:!: When offering characters, just like in the Markets, you must state that you have permission to give away a character and all art included, as well as include copyrights for the character and all art included. See more about this in Rule #22: viewtopic.php?f=93&t=59201" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
 This section is not just for artists looking to draw artwork, it is also open to those looking to colour poses, resize poses etc!
 To keep your topics tidy you may make several offering different services, artists are not limited to the amount of topics they make.
:!: Our general forum rules apply to this section
*Feel free to check out PosePro, as they specialize in making freebies, even on request, plus colouring them, resizing, and much more.
**The administration reserves the right to remove or lock any post or thread that infringes upon these guidelines or the forum rules

Forum rules update: Update to rule #19. Paypal has updated their ToS to state that you are no longer allowed to ask users to includes the paypal fee.
19.) Wolfhome strictly follows the Terms of Service (ToS) of other websites. For example; trades of any other forms of currency (DeviantART, Gaia, Neopets... etc.), are not acceptable here because it infringes on those site's ToS. This also includes but is not limited to the selling/trading/giving away of any game accounts. **Please also note that PAYPAL, per their ToS, does not allow it's users to ask a buyer to include the paypal fee when a transaction is complete. Therefore, Wolfhome will not allow users to state things like "Please pay fee" on their sales threads. To get the “full” amount you’ll have to include the fee in the total price to compensate for any fees that you may get. However, you may not state that the fee is included. It is your job as the seller to include this information.
  • Taken directly from Paypal's ToS:
    23. Asking the buyer to include a fee or otherwise stating a fee is included in the price when a transaction with PayPal is made is not allowed as it violates PayPal's Terms of Service. The seller must pay all fees. You may, however, include the fee in the cost of an item or service as long as it does not explicitly state that it is there to cover fee charges.
As stated in PayPal's Terms of Service:
PayPal's Terms of Service wrote:a. For Purchase Payments, the recipient of the payment will always pay the Fee.

    You can find PayPal's Terms of Service by following this link: https://www.paypal.com/ca/webapps/mpp/u ... ent-full#8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Update made to Journal Rule - 1/2/2016
9.) Journal topics which log personal achievement or progression are permitted. However, journals that focus around trivial questions such as "What do you think about me?" or "Do you like me?" will not be permitted. We ask that you keep the latter to other sites such as Blogger or LiveJournal.

An update has been made to rule #22:
22.) Any character sales/trades/giveaways/potential deals on this Forum must follow our guidelines on character transactions (see subforums under "Other" for more information). This means for each character transaction, you must post: whether or not you have permission and the copyrights for all art posted, including the reference image. "Respected artist" is also disallowed as it is not concise.
  • Even if you are the creator of a character or piece of art, you must include these things. It eases confusion and ensures that the person who is purchasing the character has proper information going forward and is making a trustworthy transaction. It is only acceptable to not include permissions if you are the creator of the character's design. For example: "I created this design and the art," is an implication of expressed permission and is allowed.

If threads are spotted without permissions or copyrights, you will receive a reminder on your topic. If your thread is not properly adjusted after the 24 hours has passed OR after logging back in and commenting on the thread concerning other information (ignoring the reminder), it will be removed from public view (not deleted). This is also the case if you go through with an exchange without updating your permissions/copyrights. The artwork will be disallowed use by the buyer until proper permission is given by the original artist/creator.

These reminders are ONLY to be posted by the Administration team. If non-Administration members post these reminders, it will be considered Naming and Shaming (see Rule #2E for more information on this). Please instead alert a Forum Department member if you see a thread that violates these rules.
The highlighted areas are the changes. For comparison, see under spoiler for how the old rule read:

:!: Updates made to spam rules so they're more specific.
3.) All types of spam are prohibited on this Forum. If you post spam of any sort, it will be removed and there will be disciplinary action taken upon your account. This includes, but is not limited to:

A. Posting 4 or more topics containing similar or the exact same content.
B. Creating a new topic for something that has already been posted.
C. Polls that have no relevance.
D. Posting indecipherable or unneeded messages on a topic. All content posted should relate back to sub-forum or forum posted in.
E. Creating threads that are in indecipherable or unneeded.
F. "Keep me off the forum" topics.
3.) Spam
Spamming is prohibited on Wolfhome. This can be movement and/or text. When an individual is spamming using movement, this means they are clicking all around the screen or changing poses (including facing direction) too frequently. When an individual is spamming using text, it refers to when users who rapidly enter nonsense into the the text box.
Both of these types of spam can result in some people's connections slowing down, which is why we do not allow it. Typing nonstop, which is also known as "flooding", and is considered another form of spam, fills up the majority scroll bar. We also do not allow users to "sing" excessively. It is highly annoying to others who wish to have an actual conversation on the site. When it comes to using capitals, be aware that in online-lingo, it is considered "yelling". You will be warned after four lines of any kind of spam, even if broken up only a little with normal chat.

The following is an example of text spam:
Guardian: a
Guardian: b
Guardian: c
Guardian: d

The following is an example of flooding:
Guardian: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

The following is an example of singing and excessive use of capitals:
Guardian: NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP
Guardian: NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN
Guardian: NEVER GONNA RUN AROUND AND DESERT YOU
Guardian: NEVER GONNA MAKE YOU CRY
Guardian: NEVER GONNA SAY GOODBYE
Guardian: NEVER GONNA TELL A LIIEEE AND HUUURT YOU

:!: Updated both chat and forum rules so that our impersonation rule is more clear. While impersonation has always been a part of our rules, the Wolfhome administration felt that it was important that the infringement had it's own rule. The updates are as follows:
Chat Rules wrote: 23.) Impersonation
Impersonation of any kind will not be tolerated on Wolfhome. Pretending to be another person for profit or as a joke will be taken very seriously and handled accordingly. Impersonation includes but is not limited to:
  • Claiming to be an administrator (current or former), artist, site creator, influential individual, another user of the site or offsite, etc., for personal gain.
  • Finding an image via internet search and uploading it for personal use (ex. as your sniff, profile, or forum picture) regardless if you are claiming to be that person.
  • Pretending to be someone else to harass another person.

To the community,

After careful review of our rules and taking into consideration both the thoughts, ideas, and concerns of all members of this community, the Wolfhome administration has decided to make some changes. We would also like to provide some clarification where needed for the current forum rules. Similar changes will also be made to the chat rules, though we ask you to please be patient with us as we get those changes up. An announcement will be made when the new rules have been posted. Without further adieu, here are the changes:

1.) A. We have clarified on the following: excessive cursing, middle finger usage, linking content over the PG-13 limits:
  • -While we do permit mild swearing, such as "damn" or "s**t", as this is a PG-13 website, we do not allow excessive cussing, which is more than five mild curse words or more than two stronger curse words, such as the "f-bomb".

-It is acceptable for middle fingers, without censorship, to be posted on the forum in the following formats when used indirectly in: artwork posted in the gallery, reference sheets, on the Faces of Wolfhome thread, and/or emote of the middle finger. If the middle finger appears to be: directed at someone/group/affiliation or in profile content (signature, avatar, etc.), it is not acceptable.

-Subjecting or directly linking to unfiltered NSFW ("not suitable for work") content, such as an image, a gallery, or video to others is not acceptable. Linking to offsite content that is filtered for viewing audience, for example, content that is only viewable to individuals who have the "NSFW filter" on, is acceptable.
We felt clarification was needed for how many curse words we allow in a post. We also want to stress how important it is for these words not to be directed at other people, or used in a way to belittle or harass someone. We understand that, by extension, middle fingers are similar to cuss words. With that being said, we will now allow them in artwork and on references, so long as they are not directed at particular individuals or groups of individuals. We feel this is the best way to be consistent with how we handle excessive cursing and when curse words have been directed at other individuals or groups of individuals.

The PG-13 content is where things get a bit more complicated. Directly linking content that is above the PG-13 level that is viewable to anyone will still result in action being taken against your account for being over the PG-13 limits. However, if you wish to link to furaffinity gallery where this content is filtered and only viewable to legal adults, we will now allow it. This, however, does not mean you can advertise NSFW or commissions that are above the PG-13 level on Wolfhome. This just means you can link to galleries or an image that is filtered for the appropriate audience. If the image is not properly filtered, it will be removed and handled by the forum department.

1.) C. We have clarified on the following: sheaths and nipples in artwork:
  • -Sheaths, on both anthros and ferals, are acceptable in artwork posted on the forum IF: there is no detail, it is just a slight bulge, and it isn't overly sexualized.

-Nipples are acceptable on genderfluid, masculine, and feminine feral artwork if they are not overly sexualized. Nipples may be present on masculine or genderfluid anthro artwork.
We know that this is a big change, and one that will take some getting used to. However, Wolfhome is a PG-13 site, and there are "bulges" on the crinos poses of the original pose set. With that being said, it is only fair to allow the same for all content posted on the forum. However, sheaths should not be detailed in nature; they should not have slits, and a singular, slight bulge, is acceptable. Something similar can be said about nipples, since old artwork of the Guardian shows nipples. With that being said, we allow nipples on all feral artwork, though there are still restrictions with nipples on anthro artwork. Many of you expressed concern with sheaths and nipples being allowed in artwork posted publicly on the forum, which is why we ask that as we go forward with this change, that nipples and sheaths in artwork are not flaunted to those who are uncomfortable with them. We also advise that spoilers are used for this content if you feel it could upset someone. This is NOT to say any content that could potentially upset someone should be put in a spoiler. All content in spoilers are expected to follow the rules.

7.) We have also gotten rid of our passive aggression content rule. We do not feel it is right for the administration to be judging what is directed at someone and what isn't when it is vague content. If you feel someone is belittling you or harassing you, please inform a forum department member with evidence of how the post was directed at you and it will be treated as a disruption of the peace.

13.) A. We have clarified on the following: go fund me's:
  • -Asking members of this community to give you currency for free. This also includes through go fund me donations. Go fund me's are allowed if a service, such as pose coloring or permissions to a premade pose, is given in return for a donation.
We do not have an issue with people posting go fund me's with an explanation to why they need the money so long as services are provided in return. For example, coloring poses, YCHs, etc. Go fund me's are not acceptable when they are just asking for donations and there are no services provided in return, since that is technically the same as posting a request thread.

15.) We have clarified on the following: roleplay protocol:
  • -Roleplay in the incorrect section will be met with a warning. After any two subsequent warnings on the forum, any further roleplaying in the wrong section will result in a ban.
Since we now allow roleplay in designated roleplaying sections, roleplaying is now allowed on this board. But roleplaying done in other threads is not allowed, since Wolfhome is a chatting based site above all else.

In addition, we are in the process of changing our chat rules to match the forum rules:
  • -The biggest change being that recording in public rooms is allowed. However, we encourage people to ask permission before recording or taking a screenshot. Though, whether it is private or public recordings, screenshots, etc. used to black mail or harass individuals will be treated as harassment and should still be reported.
Our rules regarding:
  • Black Lists
    Third Party Selling
    Naming & Shaming
    Request Threads
    Animal or Pet Transactions
Copyrights and Permissions for Character Transactions
Are still in place, but have been moved specifically to the WH Artist Market Guidelines thread. These will still be enforced, and will be listed in the regular rules page without a description or details. The details of these will be strictly in the Artist Market Guidelines thread because these are issues that are restricted to market place use only. We've also added clarification on our stance for taxidermy sales.

However, our policies on:
  • Paypal fees
    Trading other currency
Have been removed, and we no longer handle these. We believe we were being too strict in implementing these, even with the intention of trying to abide by the terms of service of other sites. The bottom line is that if Paypal has an issue with your account and how you handle fees, it will be on them to handle it. Something similar can be said regarding deviantart's policy in trading points, as these kinds of trades run rampant on sites like Furaffinity and deviantart has not attempted to stop them.

After our poll on copyright and permission requirements on character transactions, we are still discussing and taking into consideration your feedback. And we hope to have an update on the changes for that rule shortly. But for now, our rule remains the same.

Though this is a brief summary of the recent rule changes, please read over everything in full again. Clarification was also added, to each rule, in how we handle them. Asking questions and making sure you understand them now is the best way to avoid mishaps in the future. If you are unsure of something, please feel free to ask.

:!: Rule 1-C regarding nipples and sheaths has changed again due to popular demand.

:!: Forum Rule 17-A has been updated. All combined content of a signature must not exceed 300PX in height, per usual, but it may exceed 600PX in length unless it is a single element (such as an image). The reason this has been changed is because the forum automatically wraps multiple images, lines of text, or other signature content so that it does not stretch the forum's width.
Old wrote:A. All signature content (i.e., images, text, spoilers that are opened, spoilers that are closed) must be no more than 300 pixels in height by 600 pixels in length. For a visual representation of the 300x600 signature size limit, please see this image. Your signature should be no larger than the box in the image provided.
