Clarification about our stance on Photo Images/Photographs as Poses on Chat:
The Art Review Team has reached a verdict in regards to using Photo Images/Photographs as poses on chat! After a lengthy discussion, we have collectively agreed that these will not be accepted at this time. Whether that be a copy/paste photograph or one that even includes an outline. A big reason why we feel this way is due to the quality we want to uphold on Wolfhome. These type of poses have caused a stir within the community previously, and how they are not appealing to have on chat. We have taken that into consideration and the fact of wanting to keep the quality of artwork on Wolfhome held to a higher standard. If anyone has any further questions or concerns that pertain to this, please reach out to an Art Review Team member who would be happy to clarify & discuss with you. A section has been added into our ART FAQ for this question here.
Clarification on Multiple Subject Poses:
The Art Review Team would like to inform the community of our stance with multiple subject poses. Specifically with props/plushies and other same specie(s) characters in a single pose. If the pose in question contains one or more character(s) of the same species and does not resemble a plushie-like appearance, it will not be accepted on chat. It must not take the focus away from the main character, as it would then be placed into the large prop category. If you wish to have more than one species in a single pose, it must be visibly noticeable that one is a plushie. For example, a pose with two human main characters would not be accepted on chat unless one of those characters is clearly a plushie. Multiple main characters in a single pose will be rejected if it is not evident. We have updated our Plushies category & added a Multiple Subject Poses category in our ART FAQ. If there are any further questions or inquiries in regards to multiple subject poses, please feel free to reach out to any available Art Review Team member to assist you. Thank you!
Guidelines for Referencing & Tracing:
The Art Review Team has been working on Guidelines for Referencing & Tracing for the community, and it is now completed!
Please see HERE for further information regarding tracing, light referencing, referencing & heavy referencing.
Thank you all for your amazing patience! We're very excited to get these updates out & the changes coming on the way for the community. Keep your eyes peeled!

Sincerely,
The Art Review Team

We have updated our stance & what we will handle in regards to Off-Site Harassment, and also made a public announcement.
Please see HERE for the public announcement.

Original in our Wolfhome Rules under Harassment:
Spoiler! :
5.) Harassment (back to top)
Harassment, which is “to irritate or torment persistently" members of this community, is not acceptable. There are many different types of harassment, but harassment of any kind will not be tolerated on this website. This includes but not limited to:
  • Irritating, annoying or tormenting members of this community persistently through means such as "flaming", "egging on", or "shaming".
  • Uncalled for and inappropriate name calling, racial slurs, inappropriate and hurtful slang (such as terms against homosexuality, racial groups, political affiliations...etc.).
  • Sexual harassment or sexual innuendos. ** Sexual harassment may easily lead to a lengthy ban depending upon the situation.
  • Stalking members of this community. ** Stalking may easily lead to a lengthy ban depending upon the situation.
  • Targeting other users in regards to personal issues or differences. Using the chats to criticize or upset others you have personal differences with is not tolerated.
  • Doxing members of this community (making someones address, information, identity, or other information public) ** Doxing may easily lead to a lengthy ban depending upon the situation.
  • Uncalled for or negative criticism against your fellow community members.
  • Demeaning an artist for their skills level in artistry (such as mocking, making fun of, or speaking ill of another user and their works of art, literature, etc.).
  • Prejudice against religious or spiritual beliefs and extremist points of view. Please keep these to yourself and do not force them upon others.
  • Naming & Shaming and/or pointing out Art Theft. If you do see Art Theft, please contact a member of the Wolfhome Administration and we will handle it.
  • Cursing at other users if it is done so in a belittling, demeaning, or malicious manner. This includes flipping off other users, a group, or an affiliation with a pose or other image that includes the middle finger. Jokingly cursing at friends or calling them names is allowed in moderation, as long as all parties involved understand that it is in jest. If it is reported to the administration and there is no clear joke intended, action will be taken against your account. Any racial, derogatory, or gender slurs will absolutely not be allowed under any circumstances.
  • Begging in public rooms and/or continuous and repeated solicitation is a type of harassment and could get you kicked from the chat. This also includes continuously posting GoFundMe links in public rooms. All members regardless of their Subwascription level, are able to use the !Away feature. We highly suggest using this feature instead of continuously posting links on chat that could result in further action taken against your account.
  • Using your avatar (pose) to harass others; disturbing them, playing with them against their will, invading others space.
**If we have credible evidence of offsite harassment directed towards another Chatlands user appropriate action will be taken, to help prevent further harassment here on site.**

To further clarify, slurs/names that may seem ok to you and not to others, is not allowed. We want everyone on Wolfhome to have a safe, and calm chatting atmosphere. We accept every person as they are no matter where they are from, what they do, what they look like, or what gender/orientation/ etc they are and prefer. If someone asks you to stop calling them a name, nickname, etc, you stop; the same applies if you are asked to use the correct pronouns for each person.

If you are being harassed off-site, we suggest blocking that individual immediately. If the harassment contains one or more of what's mentioned, please report it to us with as much information as possible so it can be handled swiftly.

After some concerns were brought to our attention, we decided to revert this rule. We feel as though copyright characters should not be allowed on Wolfhome as that puts Wolfhome at risk of being sued as well as we want to keep copyright characters where they belong, with their original owner/companies.

The rule prior was to allow copyright characters as a pose but we will be no longer allowing it.
Copyright Characters

We have decided to revert the copyright rule back to its original state. We will no longer be accepting poses or rooms that depict a copyrighted character or work, if the character is in the public domain we ask that you provide proof of it being in the public domain along with the upload. The exception to this rule is if your character is cosplaying as the character in question, or in a costume of the character. We previously allowed cosplays and that will be the only way we allow such works on Wolfhome again.

What is allowed:
- Plushies of characters with clear intentions of it being a plushie (button eyes, stitches, etc)
- Body pillows of characters
- Your character cosplaying as a character
- Public Domain Characters

What isn't allowed:

- Copyrighted Characters as your pose
This meaning you are not allowed to upload a Spider-Man pose without it clearly being your character.

- Slight modifications to the Copyrighted Character even though it still resembles the Character
Making small edits such as adding earrings or changing the hair style, from just changing the overall color pallet.

- Rooms that include Copyrighted Works
Some examples would be Album covers or Movie posters that are not hand drawn by you.

We have collectively decided to take a lighter approach regarding Drugs & Bongs in Poses on Chat. These poses will only be available to use within Mature Rooms Only.
The NSFW option will need to be checked when uploading; due to them only being able to be used in Mature Rooms.
Please see below for our new regulation we have in place.

Previous Rule:
Poses with Drugs --
Drugs, Marijuana, bongs, as well as paraphernalia associated to these, are not allowed in poses. Hookahs are acceptable, bongs are not. Alcohol in poses is acceptable, so long as the user is above the age of 21 and the pose isn't distasteful.
Revised Rule:
Poses with Drugs & Alcohol --
Marijuana, bongs, hookahs, as well as paraphernalia associated to these, as well as alcohol are allowed in poses on Chat. Please bare in mind these are still only available to those who are above the age of 21 & that the pose uploaded isn't distasteful or abused. If you are found abusing these poses, then necessary action may be taken against your account & the pose will be immediately revoked from it's active status. These poses should only be used within the Mature Rooms and will require the NSFW option to be checked when uploaded.

Listed below are extra examples of what is not acceptable within a pose. If you're inquiring about anything further that is not listed below, please reach out to an ART Member to clarify.

- Pills & Pill Bottles
- Melting & Crushing Pills
- Any & all Needles
- Snorting
- Any themes or references to hallucinagenic Mushrooms "Shrooms"

We have made adjustments to our rules pertaining to scamming and panhandling as well as how we will be handling fundraising.
You may view HERE for the public announcement pertaining.
Panhandling

Chat:
Begging in public rooms and/or continuous and repeated solicitation is a type of harassment and will get you kicked from the chat. This also includes continuously posting GoFundMe links or any other donation/ fundraising platform in public rooms. All members regardless of their Subscription level, are able to use the !Away feature. We highly suggest using this feature instead of continuously posting links on chat which could result in further action taken against your account. If you have a fundraiser such as PayPal, GoFundMe, or any other fundraising site you must have a forum topic so you are able to post updates on it to where the money is going. If you do not have a forum account and you are posting to receive funds you will go up your ladder accordingly.

Forums:
Begging on the forum and/or continuous and repeated solicitation is a type of harassment and will get you removed from the forum.

If posting GFM links, per GFM's Terms of Service, "you will post updates as needed so that Users understand the use of funds and any other relevant information about your Fundraiser". In accordance with these terms, we will be requiring a once-a-month or once-every two months for updates to be shared on the GFM. If you fail to uphold these terms, your topic is subject to removal. If you have a fundraiser such as PayPal, GoFundMe, or any other fundraising site you must have a forum topic so you are able to post updates on it to where the money is going. If you do not have a forum account and you are posting to receive funds you will go up your ladder accordingly.
Scamming specifically has been added as a new Chat Rule, #14 & added into our Forum Rules, #15.
Chat & Forum:
Scamming is a form of theft and will be treated as such. If it is found that you are scamming by falsely claiming funds are going towards its intended use when they are not; action will be taken against your account which may lead to being permanently removed from the site.

A lot of work has gone into revamping a lot of our current ART rules and requirements, as well as some new rules. Some have also changed, so be sure to give this a good read over! These are also changes that've been added into the ART FAQ, which were extremely outdated and needed to have a lot added to reflect our updates & changes.

Specifically under Pose Requirements in the ART FAQ:
Spoiler! :
File Type
Previous:
File Type (back to top)
Poses with .GIF and .PNG file types are acceptable. Currently we do not accept animated .GIFs. The maximum file size is 150 KB (153,600 bytes).

New:
File Type (back to top)
Poses with .GIF and .PNG file types are acceptable. The maximum file size is 150 KB (153,600 bytes). We also allow animated poses .GIF or .PNG, although the size restriction is 512 KB (512,000 bytes) which would limit the frames for the animation. Please keep in mind, any animated poses that may contain any sort of flashing lights, contrasting light & dark patterns will not be acceptable, as this could potentially result in community members feeling disorientated, uncomfortable or unwell.
Mirroring
Previous:
Mirroring (back to top)

All poses, excluding AFK poses, must always be mirrored. mirroring a pose is when you upload both a left and right facing pose. You simply have to 'flip' the pose in your art program - it does not need to be redrawn. By doing this, it allows you to "turn around" in chat. The only other exception to this rule is when words are present on a pose (such as a shirt or a thought bubble); the words do not need to be mirrored on these poses. Although, it looks nicer if you do mirror the words when flipping your pose.

New:

All poses uploaded on Chat, must always be mirrored. Mirroring a pose is when you upload both a left and right facing pose. You simply have to 'flip' the pose in any art program & it does not need to be redrawn. By doing this, it allows you to "turn around" and face the opposite direction on chat. Another important note in regards to mirroring is when words are present on a pose (such as a shirt or a simple thought bubble); the words are required to be mirrored on poses as well to remain legible.
PG-13 Rule
Previous:
PG-13 Rule (back to top)
Adult or overtly suggestive poses are not acceptable to be used on Wolfhome. Wolfhome is a PG-13 chat, and therefore everything said, linked and uploaded must follow these guidelines. This includes images and words on signs/shirts/etc. within poses.

Sheaths are acceptable in feral artwork if there is no detail, it is a slight bulge and isn't sexualized. Bulges on anthros are acceptable if it is a smooth, round bulge such as the ones present on our crinos poses or on a Ken Barbie Doll; there is no more than one bulge; and there is no indication of a phallic shape. Nipples may only be present on feral artwork as well as on flat chested characters on anthros. Nipples are NOT permitted on any female identifying character or on any non-flat chest/breast, regardless of the gender.

New:
Adult or overtly suggestive poses are not acceptable to be used on Wolfhome outside of our designated Mature Rooms (18+). Wolfhome is a PG-13 chat, and therefore everything said, linked and uploaded must follow these guidelines. This includes images and words on signs/shirts/etc. within poses.

Within our Mature Rooms (18+) we do allow NSFW artwork. For further details pertaining, please see our NSFW section pose guidelines.
Offensive Material
Previous:
Offensive Material (back to top)

Anything offensive will not be accepted. This includes, but is not limited to, hate symbols/propaganda, obscene gestures, urinating or defecating poses that actually show urine or feces (unless abused then they will be revoked), etc...

New:
Any offensive material, artwork, or anything along those lines will not be accepted or tolerated on Wolfhome. This includes, but is not limited to, hate symbols, propaganda, obscene gestures, urinating or defecating poses that actually show urine or feces (that isn't in small amounts and with playful intent & is not "in the act" as long as it's not realistic). However, these are judged by a case-by-case basis. These are but a few examples, & if you are ever unsure if a pose you're uploading may contain offensive material then please reach out to a Member of the Art Review Team who would be happy to help answer any questions you may have.
Blood/Gore
Previous:
Blood/Gore (back to top)

A small amount of blood is acceptable on any pose. If a pose is deemed to have too much blood or gore it will be placed into one of the pose categories that are only allowed in private rooms. Any pose that appears to have self-inflicted wounds will not be allowed. PLEASE NOTE: During Howl-o-ween week, undead or gore poses will be allowed in public rooms.

New:
A small amount of blood is acceptable on any pose. If a pose is deemed to have too much blood or gore it will be placed into one of the pose categories that are only allowed in private rooms. Any sort of wounds that appear self-inflicted are not acceptable and will be rejected. Please also keep in mind of the PG-13 limitation. Overly bloody, rotting, morbid, and/or gory poses (that're placed in the gore category) are only viewable in public rooms during Halloween (October 1st to November 1st). After the holiday, this pose category is put back to private rooms only.

Poses that depict deceased or harmed animals in a prey stance will now be accepted into the gore category. It must fall within a natural predator/prey interaction. A feral animal holding a dead animal as means for Role-Play (killing animals for prey) or a feral animal chasing an injured animal (natural predator/prey interaction) would be allowed. There are a few exceptions that will not be allowed. A human or anthro pose including a dead animal or doing it harm, is not allowed as this would be considered abuse. An anthro animal hitting/doing harm to another animal, a human character holding a dead animal or doing an animal harm or an animal chained up/trapped, being mauled by a feral animal will not be allowed.
Props
Previous:
Props (back to top)

Props are items or animals that accompany your custom pose/avatar on chat. Most props are acceptable, including weapons, as long as they are not being held or used in a threatening manner. The only exception to this rule is on Howl-o-ween. If a prop is too large, for example a couch, it will be placed into the “Large Prop” pose category which is only usable in private rooms.

Examples of Acceptable Props: Signs, Plushies, Pets, Mounts, Simple thought bubbles, or any PG-13 appropriate item.
Examples of Unacceptable Props: Pets or mounts which are the same species of the main character of the pose (such as a wolf riding on a wolf mount); If the species is the same as the main character the additional pet will need to be in plushie form, Large vehicles or house hold items such as couches, Weapons that are being used in a threatening manner (except on Howl-o-ween), Speech bubbles, or Any inappropriate item that would be deemed above a PG-13 rating.

New:
Props (back to top)

Props are items or animals that accompany your custom pose/avatar on chat. Most props are acceptable, including weapons, as long as they aren't in the motion of a violent act (slashing a sword, firing a gun, or pointing a gun directly at someone). Guns can be holstered, pointing up, down, or basically a relaxed manor. Joking guns, such as a water gun, are completely acceptable. The only exception to this rule is on Howl-o-Ween.

If a prop is deemed too large, for example a couch, it will be placed into the “Large Prop” pose category, which is only usable in private rooms.
Any large appendages such as tails/wings/etc that are more than 2x the size of the body will now also be placed in the Large Prop Category.

Examples of Acceptable Props: Signs, Plushies, Pets, Mounts, Simple thought bubbles, or any PG-13 appropriate item.
Examples of Unacceptable Props: Pets or mounts which are the same species of the main character of the pose (such as a wolf riding on a wolf mount); If the species is the same as the main character the additional pet will need to be in plushie form, Large vehicles or house hold items such as couches, Weapons that are being used in a threatening manner (except on Howl-o-ween), Large/Medium speech bubbles, or Any inappropriate item that would be deemed above a PG-13 rating.
Multiple Subject Poses
(this section was added and there were no previous versions)
New:
Multiple Subject Poses (back to top)

Specifically with props/plushie poses and other same specie(s) characters in a single pose.
Mounts
Previous:
Mounts (back to top)

Mounts can be animals, creatures or vehicles. The mount must clearly look like a mount if it is not being ridden/sat upon in the pose, such as your main character riding horse back or standing next to their horse. Acceptable mounts would be horses, small dragons, motorcycles, etc..

New:
Mounts (back to top)

Mounts are acceptable within poses & they can be animals or creatures. The creature must be being ridden or otherwise clearly look like a mount. Acceptable mounts would be horses, small dragons, etc. Mounts of realistic creatures, such as horses, elephants, goats, camels, etc. are acceptable if sized accordingly. It is now acceptable if the character on the mount is the same species as the mount. Mounts cannot be lying down or sitting. Once they are not in motion, they are considered companion poses.
Pets & Companion Poses
Previous:
Pets (back to top)

Pets are companion animals that are present in a pose with your main character. If it is a small pet, there is no limit to how many you can have in a pose. Larger pets should be limited to two (2) per pose. Pets cannot be the same species as the main character in the pose. For example, if you have a pose of a horse with a foal, the horse or foal (or both) should be a plushie.

New:
Pets & Companion Poses (back to top)

Pets are companion animals that are present in a pose with your main character. Pet & Companion Poses are acceptable. Multiple small animals; such as rodents, birds, insects, or fish are acceptable. However, there should not be anymore than two large/medium pets in a pose. Any others should be turned into plushies. Poses that depict the same species are now acceptable to be used on Wolfhome. These poses include a Feral or Anthro character, accompanied by animal companion(s) of the same species. Babies or children are also not acceptable as companions, since they look like second characters. Companion poses must be same size or smaller than a standard feral wolf according to our size charts. Oversized companion(s) that take away the focus of the main character may be placed into the large prop category, for example a Dragon companion to a Dragon OC. Any animal can be a companion, including if it is the same species, so long as it meets size guidelines. Any companion in motion or a character is sitting on it will be considered a mount pose. If there are small feral companions that are overtly larger than the Feral/Anthro character or Anthro Characters accompanied by an Anthro Companion, they will be rejected. Copyrighted companions are now acceptable as fan art as long as credit it given to the original company and/or sources, the exception is the companion cannot be fanart of someone's character or fanart of a character that was created by an artist on another platform that was not commissioned by the User (Unless explicit permission has been provided).
AFK Poses
Previous:
AFK Poses (back to top)

We are extremely lenient with AFK (away from keyboard) poses. Your pose can be anything from a simple wolf head, to a feather, a rock, or even a toilet seat. These can be any type of acceptable quality such as flat colored with solid outline, detailed lined or lineless, or gag pose. The only stipulation is that the pose must have AFK written on or around the pose. Otherwise, it will fall under the "inanimate object" category and not be usable in public rooms.

New:
AFK Poses (back to top)

AFK otherwise known as "away from keyboard" Poses are acceptable. AFK Poses MUST be either canine or any other species related (canine/species skeleton, tail popping out of an object, etc. with the text "AFK" being visible) in order to be used in Public Rooms. Any AFK pose that is just an inanimate object, such as a desk, pencil, rock, etc., will not be acceptable as an AFK pose to be used in a public room -- and will be accepted in the inanimate object pose category.
NSFW Poses
New:

Our guidelines for NSFW content can be viewed below.

Animated Poses
New:
Animated Poses (back to top)
We allow animated poses .GIF or .PNG, although the size restriction is 512 KB (512,000 bytes) which would limit the frames for the animation. Please keep in mind, any animated poses that may contain any sort of flashing lights, contrasting light & dark patterns will not be acceptable, as this could potentially result in community members feeling disorientated, uncomfortable or unwell. These types of poses should be 'easy on the eyes', meaning that it should not blink too quicky, or possibly cause seizures and/or illness. Poses should also not move too quickly, and both sides must be of good quality. Any sexual or suggestive animated poses will be rejected (that aren't in the NSFW Category).

3.) Disturbing the Peace

In most cases disturbing the peace refers to behaving in ways that are upsetting or unsettling to people within the community, causing emotional grief, or trauma. This includes, but is not limited to:
Creating unnecessary drama to intentionally disturb another user. This includes misrepresenting administrative action and falsifying administrative statements.
Faking your own, or someone else's trauma (such as death, an accident...etc.). ** Severe DTP such as this will result in a Permanent Ban across Chatlands.
Subjects, images or content that can trigger other members of the community (such as talk of: rape, self-harm, suicide, hate group propaganda or extremist speech, etc.). For further details pertaining to Trigger Warnings on the Forum please see HERE. ** Hate group propaganda and extremist speech are taken very seriously and most instances it will lead to serious consequences, such as a Permanent Ban depending on the severity of the situation.
The impersonation of anyone other than yourself, regardless of context. ** Impersonation can result in a Permanent Ban depending upon the severity of the situation.

PG-13 Rule (back to top)

Adult or overly suggestive poses are not acceptable to be used on Wolfhome outside of our designated Mature Rooms (18+).

Bulges on anthro's are acceptable if it is a smooth, round bulge such as the ones present on our crinos poses or on a Ken Barbie Doll; there is no more than one bulge; and there is no indication of a phallic shape. Nipples may only be present on feral artwork as well as on flat chested characters on anthro's. Nipples are NOT permitted on any female identifying character or on any non-flat chest/breast, regardless of the gender.

Within our Mature Rooms (18+) we do allow NSFW artwork. For further details pertaining, please see our NSFW pose guidelines.

Blood/Gore
Spoiler! :

Blood/Gore (back to top)

A small amount of blood is acceptable on any pose. If a pose is deemed to have too much blood or gore it will be placed into one of the pose categories that are only allowed in private rooms.

Pride

We are adding more clarification to our Spam rule (https://wolfhome.com/faq/rules.php#2) in regards to the Away feature. We have gotten concerns & noticed that there are more overbearing messages being posted where they take up a lot of space. We'd like to remind people that these should be short messages. We will be giving an exception for Event Committee when using the Away feature to advertise anything related to events.
Previous
Spamming the chat by sending numerous messages rapidly (known as flooding) and rapid movement (clicking all over the screen) is not allowed, as this is highly annoying to others of the community. There is no specific limit to how much you can use capitals, although be aware that in online-lingo it is considered "yelling". If it's determined by the Administration that your messages and/or movements are deemed inappropriately excessive to cause annoyance to others, a warning may be given depending on your current Ban Ladder.
To further clarify changing poses rapidly or constantly, singing song lyrics, continuously typing in all caps, gibberish of random letters or numbers excessively used, using emojis excessively are examples of spam.

Users who use the subscription level of Standard or higher, have access to the "!Away" feature and need to keep in mind that your away message must not be too overbearing. For example, if it stretches long enough and takes up a large portion of the room it will be considered a form of spam. This also includes using this feature to intentionally disturb other users.

Due to the overwhelming amount of concern and confusion surrounding the Spam rule, we have went back and updated it further with the feedback we received.

Previous Rule:

Updated Rule:
Poses with Copyrighted Material

We have updated our policy to welcome poses and rooms that feature copyrighted characters or works. This includes cosplay, plushies, and hand drawn illustrations of copyrighted characters. Please be aware that despite this recent change, you are still required to have explicit, personal permission to use any of the artwork you upload.

Hi guys! We heard you loud and clear and have added better rules and specs surrounding our Animated/ GIF poses! THANK YOU PIT for the help with this!!
Please allow about a week or so for ART to adjust to these new changes!
Previous
File Type
Only .GIF and .PNG poses are acceptable. The maximum file size is 100 KB (102,400 bytes).
Animated .GIFs or .PNG have a size restriction of 512 KB (512,000 bytes) which would limit the frames for the animation.
New
File Type
We accept both GIF and PNG poses, with a maximum file size of 150 KB (153,600 bytes). Animated poses in the GIF or PNG format are also permitted, although they must be limited to 512 KB (512,000 bytes). Please note that poses with flashing lights, contrasting light and dark patterns, or any other visuals that may cause disorientation, discomfort, or illness are not allowed. For further information, please refer to the Animated Poses section.
Previous
Pose Outlines
If outlines are present, they must always be complete. The ONLY exception are puzzle poses where the user's halves complete each other to create a complete outline. Acceptable outlines include: complete black outlines, and complete dark outlines that match the pose colors. Outlines should match the color scheme of the character and be darker than the color scheme of the character. Flat poses, or poses without shading, must always have outlines. Poses with fur detail and shading do not have to have outlines. Unacceptable outlines include: no outline for flat colored poses, incomplete outline, outline too light, outline not matching the pose, outline too thick. Poses with unfitting outlines should not be acceptable. Poses should not have outline shading, as in they go around the lines with shading, rather than having a light source. All .gif file poses must have a clean and solid outline. PNGs are not required to the same dark outline as a GIF. However, it is recommended that the areas around the edges be clean.
New
Pose Outlines

If outlines around a pose are present, they must always be complete, unless they are part of a puzzle pose that requires two halves to make a complete outline. Below are some guidelines to follow that show Acceptable VS Unacceptable Outlines.

Acceptable Outlines
  • Outlines should be darker than the color scheme of the character they are outlining and should coordinate well with the overall color scheme
  • Flat poses, or poses without shading, must always be outlined
  • Poses with fur detail and shading (AKA "lineless poses") do not require outlines
  • All poses uploaded as GIFs or animations must have a clean, solid outline

Unacceptable Outlines
  • Flat poses with no outline
  • Incomplete, broken, pixelated, or too thick of an outline
  • An outline that is lighter than the main character or does not blend well with its color scheme
Previous
Animated Poses
Animated gif or png poses are now allowed in all public rooms. We will not be limiting frames for animated poses. The size restriction of 512 KB will limit that itself. These types of poses should be 'easy on the eyes', meaning that it should not blink too quicky, or possibly cause seizures and/or illness. Poses should also not move too quicky, and both sides must be of good quality. Any sexual or suggestive animated poses will be rejected (that aren't in the NSFW Category) as well as any flashing lights or contrasting light and dark patterns due to potentially causing members to feel disorientated, uncomfortable or unwell.
Animated poses can be turned off in the following ways depending on which browser you are using:
  • Chrome:
    Can use extension Animation Policy
  • FireFox:
    From Howtogeek:
Firefox offers a built-in way to stop animated GIFs from playing, or to force them to only play once.

To change this setting, type about:config into Firefox’s address bar and press Enter. You’ll see a warning telling you to be careful here, as you could change settings you shouldn’t. Be careful on this screen and don’t change any settings unless you know what you’re doing. Click “I’ll be careful, I promise!” to agree you’ve understood the warning.

Type image.animation into the search box on the about:config page. You’ll see a setting named image.animation_mode , which is set to normal by default. The “normal” behavior is to play every animated image on repeat over and over again.

Double-click the setting and set it to none to stop animated GIFs from playing. You could also set it to once if you want each animated GIF to play only once instead of repeating over and over. You don’t have to restart Firefox after making this change.
  • Opera:
Block GIF images in Opera :
    1. Press F12 Key located on top of the keyboard.
    2. Uncheck the option : “Enable GIF/SVG animation” .
    3. And you are done!

New
Animated Poses
Assembled based on guideline ideas by Pit

We allow animated poses that use the file types GIF or PNG. Animation frames are only limited to our 512 KB (512,000 bytes) size restriction. As stated above, all poses uploaded as GIFs or animations must have a clean, solid outline.

When creating animated poses, it is crucial to keep in mind the safety of other members who will also be viewing your images. It is best to avoid using flashing lights, bright colors, quick movements, contrasting patterns, or movements that could potentially trigger seizures or other health issues. Additionally, it is important to ensure that the poses are of high quality on both sides and do not move too quickly. An animated pose will be evaluated based on size, how many elements are moving, and the number of frames being used in addition to our general pose requirements. Please note that any sexually suggestive animated poses will only be acceptable under the NSFW category and are still subject to our NSFW rules.

Below are some additional guidelines you can follow to ensure your animated poses are acceptable.

Flashing Lights & Colors
Avoid using flashing lights or colors as they can trigger seizures in users who have epilepsy. These types of poses will be automatically rejected. To prevent this, allow time between stillness or movement and flashes. The number of frames in the flash should be sufficient to prevent any potential harm to the eyes. Avoid using excessively bright colors and refrain from frequently switching between them.

Animation Speed & Amount of Movement
It is important to consider the size of the movement or animation itself, as well as how long the animation lasts and when it loops. As smaller poses are already less conspicuous, they are not likely to cause any major problems when in motion. Partial body movements (eye blinking, ear flicking, tail wagging) are less noticeable and generally not harmful when moving at a slow rate. When looking at a pose with full body movement, it is essential to consider the size and any potential lasting effects the animated features may have. It is important to find a balance between these elements to ensure a well-rounded animation.

Determining the FPS (Frames Per Second) of a pose can be difficult due to the number of frames and how they are arranged. For example, a pose could be 10 FPS, but if there are not many frames in the animation, the movement will appear quicker and snappier. In order to accurately assess an animation's speed and movement, additional criteria should be taken into account rather than relying solely on the FPS rate. We will evaluate your animation's speed based on:
  1. The number of frames that change per second (FPS)
  2. The total number of frames
  3. Any other methods that can be used to alter the speed (such as increasing the speed of the animation itself)

Turning Off Animated Poses
Depending on which browser you're using, animated poses can be turned off. On this page from How-To Geek, please navigate to your corresponding browser to view instructions on how to disable animations.
